Talley Group joins forces with BlueSky Medical to bring a Negative Pressure Wound Therapy system to UK.
The UK’s largest privately owned specialist in pressure ulcer prevention and therapy has today launched a new negative-pressure wound treatment system.
The Talley Group Ltd is introducing one of the world’s leading portable wound suction products – the Versatile 1 Wound Vacuum System – from America’s BlueSky Medical.
This well proven system has earned a reputation worldwide for providing faster healing and a higher level of comfort to all patients.
Negative pressure wound therapy is a treatment where controlled localised negative pressure is delivered to a wide variety of acute, sub-acute and chronic wounds.
A pump helps drain the wound and promotes faster healing by providing localised negative-pressure on the wound bed.
The Versatile 1 Wound Vacuum System comprises pump, suction canister and tubing linking a range of dressing types – including gauze and semi-permeable membranes – for the most appropriate application.
A bacteria filter protects against the spread of micro-organisms, and a fitted battery allows mobile operation.
The unit’s low pressure, reliability and easy dressing changes are
championed by both clinicians and patients and scientific studies have shown it to be effective in dealing with open wounds and ulcers.
This recent growth builds on Talley Group’s prestigious 50-year history in the medical industry, and their established contracts for pressure-ulcer therapy mattresses within the NHS and private sector through their Talley Medical division.
Talley Group’s Operations Manager, Kevin Mearns, said:
Working with BlueSky Medical is a natural step forward, and reinforces our drive to provide a range of effective and economical solutions for hospitals, staff and patients.
We are particularly excited to be introducing the Versatile 1 and a range of wound dressing applications, as such an established, proven, product will complement our existing range of mattresses bed frames and compression therapy products.
This represents an important move in the Group’s activities and is one of a number of initiatives planned for Talley Medical and Talley Environmental Care the two divisions within the Group
