Talley Group launches TECcare Protect hand sanitising foam

Posted: Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

Recent research suggests that alcohol-based hand cleaners are no longer the most effective first line of defence in infection prevention. Alcohol-based hand gels have several significant drawbacks, causing skin irritation, drying or cracking which can make skin more susceptible to infection of transient disease causing bacteria, and the loss of effectiveness as soon as it evaporates and dry’s, which is almost immediately.
With current testing protocols only available for the floral or vegetative form of C.difficile for hand sanitising products C.difficile spore claims made by hand sanitising products should be challenged and treated with caution. Until recognised testing is available to prove that a hand sanitizer has a sporicidal action it is generally agreed the most effective way of dealing with hands potentially colonised with C.difficile spores is the physical removal through thorough hand washing with soap and water.

TECcare Protect, unlike alcohol based hand gels and many other commercial available products does not contain chemicals that cause skin irritation, drying or cracking. TECcare Protect kills 99.9999% of common microbes within 15 seconds and is effective against bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella, MRSA and destroys viruses including H1N1 Swine Flu. TECcare Protect continues to be effective on hands for up to 4 hours after use.
