Talley Medical invest in new technology

As many companies switch production overseas, one Hampshire company has invested in state-of-the-art plastics processing equipment at home.
The new equipment will speed the process of individual design and production to just a few days, by increasing flexibility, and cutting lengthy jobs to just a few minutes, or even seconds.
A new CNC Static Cutting System is operated by CAD (Computer Aided Design) technology, enabling the custom design and manufacture of any fabric product within seconds. A maximum cutting speed of two metres a second reduces a 49 minute job to just under a minute, allowing a high degree of repeatability.
The Injection Moulding machine creates intricate plastic components for use in air supply units 40 per cent faster than before, and up to twice the size. The machine enriches Talley’s range of available componentry, allowing the R&D team to remain experts in their field. Talley Medical’s Operations Manager Kevin Mearns said: “Everything here is manufactured in-house, so we have total control over quality, flexibility, speed and design”.
Our investment in this new technology underpins our movement to ‘agile manufacturing’ – we can make any product to any size and scale. As our brief from customers can be very specific, we need to be able to respond to their needs quickly and efficiently, whilst keeping prices competitive for the NHS and private facilities alike.
