Trafford Healthcare NHS Trust adopts revolutionary new TECcare antimicrobial wipes

Trafford Healthcare NHS Trust announces the adoption of TECcare™ Control (previously branded as TECare™) wipes for the cleaning and disinfection of all medical equipment within the trust.

This product has broad spectrum antimicrobial activity that kills / deactivates Bacteria, Viruses, Moulds, Fungi and spores including Clostridium difficile and MRSA.

An evaluation was conducted by members of the Trust’s Department of Clinical Technology (DoCT) with approval from the Infection Prevention & Control team, which demonstrated the benefits of using TECcare wipes within the clinical environment.

TECcare wipes provide a safe, convenient way to clean and disinfect surfaces without any detrimental effect. The unique surface conditioning properties of TECcare Control ensures prolonged broad spectrum antimicrobial protection on treated surfaces.

According to a recent independent dry surface sporicidal test conducted by the EU Clostridium difficile (C.diff.) reference laboratory in Belgium, TECcare Control was shown to be effective against this organism. After one application the product continuously killed C. diff. spores for 48 hrs on a dry surface.

TECcare Control has  passed stringent EN, EU and AOAC testing protocols in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice and has shown to be effective against  a very wide spectrum of micro-organisms like, bacteria including MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), fungi and viruses, such Influenza (Flu) and Norovirus (winter vomiting virus).
