The continued and growing demand for the companies Pressure Relieving Surfaces and Negative Pressure Wound Therapy products was helped by new and potential customers visiting the Head Offices and manufacturing base in Hampshire, where the company has been able to show customers how products are developed and manufactured on site giving them further insight into the work involved.

The new CRM module has transformed the efficiency of the group’s prestigious UK support network of service centres and technical services by allowing the entire fleet to operate in real-time whist on location. While out on location the technical team can record and immediately send vital information regarding sales, rental and service activity direct to Talley Group’s Head Office. From there, the information can be managed and monitored in real-time by our sales, clinical and service teams who can react immediately to address our customers’ requirements. This new module seamlessly supports the existing support network and the gains are felt in-house at Talley Group as much as within their customer network. The benefits of the system are reciprocal in that customers have instant online access to their own accounts, giving them accurate up to date account information concerning sales, rental and service activity as well as providing invoices and management reports.

Having already proven the global appeal of the brand with developments in China and South Africa earlier in the year, the export business has been further boosted by new distribution partners being added in India and Russia in the latter part of 2011. The Group is looking forward to further growth in Australasia in 2012 as well as forging more partnerships in South America and Asia.
Talley Medical transforms its customer service through mobile technology

Talley Medical, specialists in manufacturing of medical equipment, has recently transformed its customer service capability through the use of mobile technology.

It has achieved this by implementing a Microsoft Customer Relationship Management (CRM) module that sits on top of its existing Microsoft Dynamics AX business management software system, which was delivered by its business solutions partner eBECS Limited.

This new CRM module has transformed the efficiency of the group’s prestigious UK support network of service centres and technical services by allowing the entire fleet to operate in real-time whist on location.

While out on location the technical team can record and immediately send vital information regarding sales, rental and service activity direct to Talley Group’s Head Office. From there, the information can be managed and monitored in real-time by our sales, clinical and service teams who can react immediately to address our customers’ requirements. An added bonus is that there is little room for human error as the data is entered into pre-agreed templates and is also completed in situ whilst the technician is still on the client site.

This new module seamlessly supports the existing support network and the gains are felt in-house at Talley Group as much as within their customer network. The benefits of the system are intended to be reciprocal, so that in the future customers will have instant online access to their own accounts, giving them accurate up to date account information concerning sales, rental and service activity as well as providing invoices and management reports.

Clients in both the NHS and private sectors are spread all over the country and the technical team is often faced with unpredictable needs and challenges from customers. This new CRM system is a great asset to Talley Medical’s business and can only serve to enhance the high level of service they already deliver to clients.

While the Western European economy continues to labour through the financial constraints of the global downturn, Talley Medical continues to enjoy new international business development and is maintaining its structured growth into new territories. After already forging new partnerships in South Africa and India this year, the company is pleased to announce the latest exciting development and appointment of a new Russian distributor – Nienschanz.

Based in St Petersburg, but with coverage across the whole of the Russian Federation, the Nienschanz Group of Companies was founded over 20 years ago and boasts a workforce that is 1200 people strong. The medical division Alpha Mobili celebrated its tenth anniversary this year and works hard to source only the highest quality medical products. They represent a wide range of products but are particularly focused on hospital furniture and it became clear during the early stages of discussion that there was an excellent fit with the Talley range of products.

Paul Hoff, International Sales Manager at Talley Medical observed,

In the past, such markets would not have been focused on importing our high quality products, but it is pleasing to note that customers worldwide are recognising the value of investing in quality, and appreciate the benefits of reduced servicing and the lower overall life costs associated with such reliable and long lasting equipment. Our success is due to continued investment focusing on quality, value, and innovation. With the global market place for medical equipment becoming more competitive and many companies switching research, development and production overseas to save costs we have continued to invest in UK manufacturing, developing and producing world leading medical devices

Talley Medical is a fully vertically integrated UK manufacturing organisation whose products are designed, developed and produced at its Hampshire headquarters. The company will once again be exhibiting at the Medica global trade fair in Dusseldorf in November (Hall 14, Stand B30), and will undoubtedly be looking for further expansion into new export markets in 2012 and beyond.

Following last year’s expansion into China, Talley Medical is delighted to announce its collaboration with Janak Healthcare, a well established Indian bed frame manufacturer with over 50 years experience, who will supply the Talley mattress systems into the Indian market.

As the UK’s largest privately owned specialist in pressure ulcer prevention and therapy equipment and the only vertically integrated UK manufacturer in this field, Talley Medical is justifiably proud of its heritage and reputation for high quality, cost effective and clinically effective products.

Janak Healthcare has a similar history, having been established as a family business in the 1950s also, and manufactures a range of hospital furniture, specialising in bed frames, and having over 50% of its domestic market share.

Madhusudan Joshi, CEO, of Janak commented:

We are delighted to secure the exclusive distribution rights to the Talley brand for the Indian market. From our own research it is clear that the products offer excellent value for money and are very durable, due in no small part to their exceptional quality and design.

The shared vision for supplying such cost effective and high quality products made it clear that the Talley mattress range would complement the Janak portfolio perfectly, enabling them to offer a complete bed and mattress solution to all markets including acute care hospitals and community sectors alike. Based in Mumbai but with distribution throughout India, Janak is ideally placed to deliver first class customer service and support to the market.

Paul Hoff, International Sales Manager, at Talley added:

Janak were the obvious partner to enter the Indian market with, as a well-established and highly respected local supplier, and with there being great synergy between our products. We are very excited about the mutually beneficial growth which this collaboration will undoubtedly bring.

This latest overseas expansion is the latest in a long line of successful new appointments in new international markets for Talley Medical in recent years, and demonstrates clearly that customers value the qualities of UK manufactured products.

Business activity in the UK, USA and Export markets grew through the first 6 months of this year and this progress is predicted to continue. Total revenue has grown by more than 11.8% compared to the first 6 months of 2010, and the UK revenue alone has seen a 20.6% increase over this same period.

With a number of significant contract awards from both the Acute and Primary Care sector for both the purchase and rental of the product range, the Group continues to grow its UK customer base. New and potential customer visiting the Head Offices and manufacturing base in Hampshire have been impressed with the facilities and services offered and have enjoyed seeing the products being manufactured on site giving them further insight into the work involved.

The addition of new distribution partners in South Africa and China means the Group now boasts a global distribution network of more than 40 countries, made more satisfying as the Group is now exporting products to countries historically seen as producing low cost, low quality alternative products, clearly demonstrating the company’s ability to compete in the Global market as well as showcasing UK manufacturing.

The US continues to perform well with Compression Therapy and Negative Pressure Wound Therapy products, and the introduction of US specification mattress products later in the year will continue to improve this growth.

The Board of Directors have maintained investment focusing on quality, value, and innovation. With the global market place for medical equipment becoming more competitive and many companies switching research, development and production overseas to save costs, Talley have developed a continually improving, vertically integrated manufacturing base in Hampshire UK, where they design, tool and manufacture their range of products. Investment continues in state-of-the-art moulding and cutting technologies, a multi-skilled workforce using latest technologies, including 3D modelling, CAD software, and advanced surface mount electronics.

This strong UK manufacturing base has ensured the company continues to deliver high quality, clinically proven cost effective products to its expanding customer base. The introduction of new products such as the Pulsair Choice range of alternating mattresses and seating system aimed at the nursing home market is one example of where the Group has continued to developed new and innovative product solutions and more product launches are planned throughout 2011.

UK Manufacturing pays dividends for Talley Medical

Talley Medical, a designer and manufacturer of medical equipment, has signed a Chinese distribution agreement with The WEGO Group, which will see the Talley brands being represented across China, by WEGO who have over 17 sales offices, more than 100 regional offices and a sales force numbering over 1000.

This agreement means Talley now boasts a global distribution network of more than 40 countries, and while the rest of the world is in the grips of recession, the Chinese economy in general continues to grow at a rate of nearly 10%, with 850 billion RMB ($124 billion) set aside for healthcare over the next two years. This makes it one of the world’s fastest growing markets for medical technology.

With the global market place for medical equipment becoming more competitive and many companies switching research, development and production overseas to save costs, Talley have developed a continually improving, vertically integrated manufacturing base in Hampshire, where they design, tool and manufacture their range of products, investing in state-of-the-art moulding and cutting technologies, a multi-skilled workforce using latest technologies, including 3D modeling, CAD software, and advanced surface mount electronics. This investment and proven product quality was a major influence in WEGO decision to choose Talley Medical to provide products for the Chinese market.

Chris Evans, Chief Executive Officer at Talley Medical, added:

In the current climate of global economic uncertainty and increased competition we have no plans to follow the growing trend of relocating manufacturing to supposedly lower cost overseas sites. We have always considered this to be a very short term and as we have continued our growth we have made further UK based manufacturing investment, including jobs, plant and machinery.

Our strategy supports our agreement with the WEGO Group as we have clearly demonstrated our abilities and I am delighted they have recognised this and we look forward to working with them to ensure they receive the same product quality the rest of our customers enjoy

About The WEGO Group:
